This small adapter lets you connect a FBAS device like a TV set or a
VCR to a video source with only a physical S-VHS output, for example
a Pablo IV. The source has to be able to be switched in FBAS (CVBS)
mode as this adapter does not change anything in the signal. It
merely provides physical connectivity.
These parts are needed, both connectors are to be mounted to cables:
Please do not use cheap audio cables as they would not gain best quality for video purposes. Instead use (yellow) video cable! If you look at the connectors from the soldering side you see the following.
To make things work connect it in the obvious way:
This works because some video sources usually providing S-VHS (aka Y/C) outputs where lumincance and chrominance information is spearated can be switched to output both signals combined onto one line. If your video source cannot be switched you will merely see a grey scale image as the CVBS line is connected to the luminance pin. |
